Tabs

Open a page on a new tab

  1. Tap and hold the page link.
  2. In the context menu, tap:
    • Open in new tab to go to the link on a new tab.
    • Open in background to open the link on a new tab but stay on the current tab.

To go to the background tab, tap the icon and select the tab.

Create a new tab

Note. If you turn on the smartphone after it has been unused for several hours, Yandex.Browser will show previously opened tabs. If you want Yandex.Browser to always open a new tab on startup, go to Settings → Advanced and enable New tab on startup.
  1. Tap the icon (if there is no icon, tap the menu button on the smartphone).
  2. Tap New tab in the menu.

Switch tabs

  1. Tap the icon to switch to tab navigation mode.
  2. Choose the appropriate tab from the list.

Close a tab

  1. Tap the icon to switch to tab navigation mode.
  2. Swipe the page left or right, or tap the icon  in the top right corner of the tab.

Close all tabs

By default, when you close the browser, all the tabs are also closed. To turn off this feature:

  1. Tap the icon (if there is no icon, tap the menu button on the smartphone).
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Turn off the Close tabs when exiting the browser option.

If you want to close all tabs manually:

  1. Tap the icon to switch to tab navigation mode.
  2. Tap the icon (if there is no icon, tap the menu button on the smartphone).
  3. Tap Close all tabs in the menu.

Tabs that are open on different devices

Tabs open on various synced devices (computers, tablets, smartphones) are displayed after browser syncing.

View tabs left open on other devices
  1. Tap the icon to switch to tab navigation mode.
  2. Click the  icon.
  3. Open the appropriate section: Computer, Tablet or Phone.
  4. Tap the line with the desired tab.
