Read books

You can read books in Yandex Browser. Download a book, choose your convenient mode, and start reading.

View all books

To view all books, tap → Downloads → Books.

Add a book to the library

Add a book:

Open

1. Tap → Reader.
2. Tap the book you want to open.

If you've read that book before, it will open on the page where you left off.

Below the title of each book, you can see your current progress (XX% read).

Open the book in another reading app

1. Tap → Reader.
2. Find the book you want to open in the list.
3. To the right of the title, tap .
4. In the menu that appears, tap Open with...
5. Select a reading app from the list.

Read

Tap the right edge of the screen to turn the page, and the left edge to return to the previous page.

To open settings, tap the center of the screen. In settings mode, you can:

• Downloads — Open the library.

•  — Open the table of contents. To go to a specific chapter, tap its title.

•  — Change the font size and margins. To change the font size, tap or . You can adjust the text width on the screen with the icons .

•  — Listen to the book.

•  — Switch to the dark theme. To switch to the light theme, tap .

• Navigation slider: Jump to the page you need. At the bottom of the screen, drag the slider left or right.

To close the book:

1. Tap the center of the screen.
2. Tap the tab counter on the bottom panel ( if you have seven tabs open).
3. Swipe the page left or right or tap in the upper-right corner of the tab.

Listen

You can also listen to books in Yandex Browser. You can choose between a female or male voice. To listen to a book:

1. Open the book.
2. Tap the center of the screen → .

While listening, you can control the narration on the bottom panel:

• — Pause.

• — Continue reading.

•  — Skip 10 seconds back.

•  — Skip 10 seconds forward.

• — Select reading speed and voice. If the normal speed doesn't feel right, select fast or very fast reading. You can also select a female or male reader here.

• — Turn off reading. To make the icon appear, first tap .

Delete

1. Tap → Reader.
2. To the right of the title, tap .
3. In the menu that appears, select Remove.

Share

You can share a book via other apps:

1. Tap → Reader.
2. To the right of the title, tap .
3. In the menu that appears, tap Share.
4. In the list, select the app where you want to share the book.

Settings

Sort books

1. Tap → Reader.
2. In the upper-right corner, tap .
3. Select the option you need in the Sort by section:
   • Recent: Books are sorted by the date they were last opened.
   • Download date: Books are sorted by the date they were added to the library.
   • Name: Books are sorted alphabetically.

Download settings

1. Tap → Reader.
2. In the upper-right corner, tap  → Settings.
3. Set the download settings:
   • File storage directory: Select a folder to save books.
   • Download files without notification: Enable the option for automatic downloads.

Search in downloaded books

1. Tap → Reader.
2. Tap .
3. Enter the book title in the search bar.
