Yandex advertising policy – Turkey

This document is a translation of Yandex Advertising Policy – Turkey in English. In case of conflict between the Turkish version of Yandex Advertising Policy – Turkey and this translation - only the Turkish version of Yandex. Advertising Policy – Turkey is legally binding. This Yandex Advertising Policy is an integral part of the Agreement. Terms used herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them in Yandex.Direct Online Advertising Service Terms and Conditions located on the Internet at https://yandex.com.tr/legal/oferta_direct.

Yandex provides Services with Location-Based Targeting on Turkey, provided that the Advertising complies with the requirements set out herein below.

Content of Advertising

1. Advertising shall strictly comply with provisions of the applicable laws of Turkey, shall be in accordance with public morality, shall be fair and decent. Yandex does not accept Advertising that:

1.1. is contrary to the existence and independence of the Republic of Turkey, the indivisible integrity of the state and nation, the principles and reforms of Atatürk;

1.2. uses profanities, subliminal techniques, obscene and offensive images, comparisons and expressions involving gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, language, profession, social categories, handicaps, disability, age, religious beliefs and religious symbols, political opinions, official state symbols, public officials;

1.3. is bad faith, false, mislead consumers, uses customers' inexperience and lack of knowledge, for example:

  • contains false information about the product/service,

  • contains standard graphical user interface elements without appropriate functionality in the Advertising material and/or design elements of Yandex pages,

  • does not clearly disclose the source of information contained in the Advertising message;

  • contains false testimonies about the discounts/rebates/sales and/or their terms and rules;

1.4. discredits, insults and/or takes unfair advantage of a third party’s business, business products and/or services;

1.5. incites unlawful acts and/or violence, cruelty, suicide, sexual assault against minors;

1.6. creates or poses a threat to public health;

1.7. defies moral norms;

1.8. advertises a product that is prohibited for advertising in such a manner, at this time or in this place;

1.9. contains materials that picture people in dangerous situations, including situations that threaten human life or demonstrate disregard for safety;

1.10. contains materials related to private lives of persons as well as images of persons without authorization of the models for such use;

1.11. uses images of radio and television news programs anchors;

1.12. pose a threat to physical, intellectual or moral development of children, encourage children to purchase certain products/services using their lack of knowledge, inexperience and trust; urge children to make their parents/guardians purchase certain products/services; undermine confidence of children in their parents/guardians/tutors/teachers; show children in dangerous situations;

1.13. incite exploitation of women;

1.14. imitate general layout, text, slogan, visual presentation, music and sound effects of any third pary advertising which causes misleading of consumer or confusion.

2. Special restrictions and limitations for particular types of products are set out in “List of products and services restricted or limited for advertising in Turkey” located on the Internet at https://yandex.com.tr/legal/adv_rules that are considered to be incorporated into this Advertising Policy by reference.

3. Yandex does not accept ads related to tragic events, if such ads aim to draw attention to the respective news/publications (including to the shocking content), or any other words or expressions which might have been prohibited by Turkish authorities.

4. The text of the Advertising shall be in Turkish language.

5. Price indications must be in Turkish liras and, if necessary, in foreign currency as well. Price indications must also include all applicable taxes.

6. The advertising must correspond to the content of the page of the website whereto the link in the ad leads. (For example, if the Advertising contains information about a discount, then the Advertising Link must lead to that page of the Advertiser’s website where the discount is clearly described.)

6.1. Advertising of news sites, containing information about a news article published on the Advertiser’s website, must lead to the page of the website where this article is located. Additionally, the text of the Advertising must correspond to the headline and content of the news article. In the event where the text of the advertising contains provocative statements, implies an ambiguous interpretation or may mislead users Yandex has the right to request complete revision of the headline to ensure its relevance to the text of the advertising.

6.2. The text of the Advertising shall clearly demonstrate that the Advertising links to a source where a news article may be read.

7. If the Advertising uses superlative degree of adjectives and/or reports advantages of the advertised product over other products on the market, the advertising link must lead to a page of the Advertiser’s website where this information is appropriately evidenced (by opinion polls, research studies etc.).

8. Yandex.Direct advertising materials shall comply with the “Technical Requirements in Yandex.Direct” located on the Internet at: https://yandex.com.tr/legal/direct_adv_rules.

9. Media advertising materials shall comply with the «Banner Ads. Advertising requirements» located on the Internet at: https://yandex.com.tr/legal/banner_adv_rules.

Requirements for the website of the Advertiser

10. No additional pop-up or pop-under windows shall open on the page of the Advertiser linked by the Advertising.

11. The page linked by the Advertising shall properly open in the web browser and shall be free from errors in scripts and programs.

12. No Advertising leading to a website the main purpose of which is to show Advertising is allowed. Such websites include, for example, pages with more than a half of the area of the first screen occupied by advertising blocks.

13. If the page of the website linked by the Advertising fails to properly respond and does not open within the term of the Advertising Campaign, Yandex shall be entitled to suspend the placement of such Advertising until the irregularity is cured.

Other requirements

14. Yandex may not advertise third party projects that are similar to the services listed on the page http://www.yandex.com.tr/all on the same page with a link to one of these services.

15. Yandex shall be entitled to reject any Advertising material without any reasoning or explanation at its own discretion.
